Biography

Patrick Massaro received his associate’s degree in Biomedical Science/Health Care Option from Cumberland County College in 2013, a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Wilmington University in 2014, and his master’s degree in Counseling in the Educational Setting from Rowan University in 2017. Although each of these degrees are in completely different fields, they each allow Patrick to collaborate and assist people in new capacities.

Since graduating with his Counseling in Educational Setting degree from Rowan University, Patrick had the opportunity to gain a variety of experience in the education field. These roles entailed serving as a School Counselor and Career Counselor. Serving in these positions allowed him to author a 50-page Course Guide for Rowan University’s Career Planning & Development class that saves students over $45,000 each year and he authored The Student Engagement Opportunity Outline journal article for the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

These collective experiences led Patrick to pursue his current position as the Assistant Director of Academic Engagement in Rowan University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS). Through this position, Patrick oversees the Center for Professional Success, which is a comprehensive resource center that supports the academic and career development of CHSS students. The Center for Professional Success hosts the CHSS Match Internship Program, facilitates student appointments to increase students’ career readiness, and collaborates with faculty members to integrate career services into the CHSS curriculum.
