Employer Advisory Board
As industry needs continue to evolve, the College of Humanities & Social Sciences Employer Advisory Board, coordinated by the Center for Professional Success, strives to strengthen our relationship with employers to better align our programs and services with the needs of the many in-demand sectors in which our students are interested. More specifically, the goals of the Board are as follows:
- Expand pathways to experiential learning and job placement,
- Address knowledge gaps in critical or emerging technologies,
- Inform agile and adaptive approaches to meeting workforce trends,
- Partner toward more effectively translating valuable knowledge into in-demand skills,
- Enhance student-employer relations and recruitment of CHSS graduates, and
- Offer a space for continued professional development among employer partners.
Board Members
Patricia Calandro is the Assistant Superintendent for the Kingsway Regional School District, where she spearheads the district's student programming vision. In her leadership role, she oversees key areas, including curriculum and instruction, special education, and school counseling, ensuring a cohesive and impactful educational experience for all students.
Saul Cintron serves as a Special State Investigator and Acting Prosecutor’s Detective with the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office (GCPO). Currently, he is assigned to the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (HIDTA TF), where he is authorized to conduct investigations and make arrests for violations of New Jersey state statutes. He earned an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Camden County College in June 2006 and a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Justice from Rowan University in August 2008. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Emergency and Threat Response Management at Rowan University.
Trooper Echevarria is a 2005 Rowan Alumnus with a BA in Law & Justice. He is a New Jersey State Trooper currently assigned to the Recruiting Unit. He was stationed at multiple road stations including Port Norris, Bridgeton, Atlantic City Expressway, & Woodbine. Richard had the opportunity to work in various units within the State Police including the Casino Investigations Unit, Crime Scene Investigations Unit, and Open Public Records Unit. He is proud to be assigned to the NJSP's Employee Relations & Community Outreach Section. Being a NJSP Recruiter allows him to engage with the community and educate those that are interested in becoming a New Jersey State Trooper. As a recruiter he conducts career presentations about the NJSP, he is the internship program coordinator and works with the Outreach Unit.
Karen Lindgren, Ph.D., is the Chief Clinical Officer at Bancroft, a non-profit organization supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and autism. A licensed psychologist, Dr. Lindgren oversees clinical quality assurance across the organization. She joined Bancroft in 1997, and has over 25 years experience in best practices for individuals with I/DD and has presented information in the area of neurological development.. She was a key architect of Bancroft’s strategic plan with current focuses on whole person health and innovative technologies.
As Chief of the Woodbury Police Department, Chief Ryan is in charge of all day to day operations. In his over 20 years in law enforcement, he has served as a Patrol Officer, Investigator, Detective, Detective Sergeant, and Captain of Police. Since becoming Chief in 2015, Chief Ryan has worked to make Woodbury City PD an example of a progressive and compassionate police agency. Implementing such programs as: Chaplain Program, Straight to Treatment Program, Re-Entry Program, LGBTQ Liaisons, Citywide Crime Camera Systems, Autism/Disabilities Registry amongst several others. While Chief, he has become NJSACOP ACE-Advanced certified and attended both the FBI’s LEEDS (Princeton) training and it’s first every National Command Course (2021) in Quantico. Chief Ryan serves on the Executive Board of the Gloucester County Chiefs Association (past president – 2021) and sits on the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police’s Accreditation Commission (NJSACOP). Chief Ryan earned a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from LaSalle University and a Master’s in Criminal Justice from St. Joseph’s University.
