2024 CHSS/Edelman CCCA Career Expo & Alumni Panel
We invite you to attend this Career Expo taking place on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. This event will give College of Humanities & Social Sciences & Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts majors the opportunity to meet industry employers and recruiters to discuss employment options. In addition, we will be offering a Prep for the Career Fair session before the event, as well as an Alumni Panel being held the night of the career fair.

Alumni Panel: "Making a Difference"

In recognition of Rowan’s centennial, we invite you to an alumni panel featuring alums who have made a difference, drawing from Henry Rowan’s famous quote, “Make a difference. Michael Acevedo, '09, Political Science Alumnus
Michael brings fourteen years of in-depth policy experience, focusing on consumer, retail, health, and labor policy, while working for multiple members of the New Jersey Legislature. Michael’s clients benefit from his extensive knowledge of the state legislative process and experience building coalitions to support legislative measures.
Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor, Michael served as the Chief of Staff for New Jersey’s 4th legislative district office, supporting Chair of the Senate Labor Committee, Senator Fred H. Madden (D), Chair of the Assembly Consumer Affairs Committee, Assemblyman Paul D. Moriarty, and Assemblywoman Gabriela M. Mosquera (D). As chief of staff, he oversaw a team of eight while coordinating efforts to usher bills through the legislative process, from introduction through final passage. He also coordinated regularly with the New Jersey Governor’s Office, executive-level agencies, public interest groups, and community leaders.
Having served as a member of the Gloucester Township zoning board for ten years, Michael also keenly understands zoning regulations, land use planning, and procedural knowledge, as well as the importance of community engagement, conflict resolution, and coalition building in local politics.
Michael earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from Rowan University and his M.P.A. from Rutgers University.
Riccardo Dale, '20, Liberal Studies Alumnus
Since he was 19 years old Riccardo has traveled nationally and internationally telling his story of being homeless, failing academically and struggling mentally after witnessing his mother try to take her own life.He speaks out about the importance of seeking help when dealing with mental struggles and/or illness. He spent years helping youth find ways to battle against the mental struggles that they faced.
At 20 years old Riccardo sat on the board of trustees for Rowan University where he advocated for mental health services and fought against food insecurity amongst students at Rowan University.
At 22 years Riccardo sat on the board of Education for Beverly city advocating for educational resources for all students. His term was short lived because he was recognized for his contribution in the community over the years and was asked to take a seat on city council from his democratic committee.
As one of the youngest City Council members at 23 years old, Riccardo Chaired the community outreach committee where he focused on bridging the gap between citizens and local officials. He makes it his duty to hear the concerns of all citizens and fights tirestly for their rights. He has created job opportunities and assisted with access to education. Riccardo also sits on the Community events committee where he has played a major part in putting together the majority of city events in the last 3 years.Including but not limited to his Annual Basketball Camp and Back To School Drive.
Now 26 years old Riccardo Dale has spent the last 5 years expanding a supportive service organization he founded called Free All Minds non profit. Through this organization he has led an all year round Leadership Academy for boys of color Called Free All Minds Academy. This academy has a 100 percent high school graduation rate and a 100 percent college or trade school acceptance rate for its students.Every week at Free All Minds Academy students meet for Academic , Career, Life skills workshops. Students travel the country for free through the program visiting colleges and going on recreational and educational trips. Riccardo hosts Family dinners every Sunday for students in his academy who may not have family dinners at home. He not only developed this program but is hands-on weekly giving countless hours to his kids even in the summers when he coaches youth travel basketball for his academy. His life is centered around hsi community and service.
Under Free All Minds Non Profit Riccardo has held dozens of college and career fairs and helped 100s of youth get to college and/or receive employment, He has given over 10,000 meals to those in need and has given shoes and/or clothing to hundreds of students in need.
Mia Nardone, '18, Public Relations & Advertising Alumna
Over the last several years, Mia has also held roles with the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Flyers, Live Nation, and LEARFIELD (Temple Sports Properties). Currently, as Development Strategist, Special Events & Operations for Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education, she is responsible for overseeing and growing all fundraising events.
Christina Paciolla, '05, Journalism Alumna
Christina Paciolla oversees The Associated Press' editing desk in the U.S. as its deputy director for text production. She's held a number of positions at the AP, including NJ/PA/OH news editor and weekend editor. Christina is on the leadership team of Women+@AP, an employee resource group providing support and programming for marginalized genders at the AP. Previously, Christina was the city editor at Metro Philadelphia newspaper, an editor with AOL and a political reporter for NJ.com. She has also contributed to the Philadelphia Obituary Project and South Jersey Magazine. She is a 2005 graduate of Rowan University and since 2015, she has been a member of the College of Communication and Creative Arts Advisory Board. She lives in Palmyra, New Jersey, and is a huge fan of the Phillies, yoga, LBI, music and crosswords.
