Center for Professional Success

It is never too early to get engaged! Out-of-classroom experiences are a great way to get a jump start on your professional career. In fact, when deciding between two otherwise equally qualified candidates, employers rank completion of an internship, holding leadership positions, and being involved in extracurricular activities as influential factors in making a hiring decision (Job Outlook Survey, 2018). The CPS can assist you with finding an internship, receiving travel funding for conferences and presentations, mock interviewing, and resume writing.

The CPS also offers several networking and career development events to help you explore your career options. In partnership with the Office of Career Advancement, we can provide you with access to a variety of internships, career inventories, and career counseling that can help you narrow your interest and focus your professional journey.

Center for Professional Success Secures Sponsorship to Support Law School Aspirants

The Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey teamed up with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) at Rowan University to create learning and networking opportunities for our students for the 2021-2022 academic year. The HBA sponsorship is the first of its kind for CHSS’s Center for Professional Success. The $1,000 sponsorship from the HBA, a community of Hispanic lawyers with a vested interest in resolving issues impacting Hispanics in the legal community, will be split three ways. The first $500 will support a CHSS Match social media and event intern for the HBA, while $250 will go to the Center for Professional Success and Pre-Law Society each. The partnership will also involve a monthly, one-hour visit with a lawyer from the HBA for students to attend and two campus events co-sponsored by a student group. The HBA will also attend CHSS’s annual career expo for student networking opportunities.
