Federal Work Study
On and off campus jobs provide excellent opportunities to gain hands-on experience. The Federal Work Study (FWS) program provides paid jobs both on and off campus for students who indicate a desire to participate in the Work-Study program on their FAFSA and show "financial need". Many student worker positions provide skills and experience which will assist students in their career development. You will record your hours on your time sheet and you will get paid bi-weekly through payroll and the funds will be deposited to your bank account.
STEP 1: Complete your FAFSA
If you wish to participate in this program, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.gov.
STEP 2: Check your Rowan Email Account Regularly
Once you have completed the FAFSA, be sure to check your student email account regularly as the Office of Financial Aid will notify students if they are eligible for FWS during the summer before the new academic year begins.
STEP 3: Find a Job
If you are new to the FWS program, or are looking for a new position, you are encouraged to look for available positions posted on the Office of Career Advancement’s job posting system called Profs Jobs.
- To access ProfsJobs, students may access the site by visiting the student section at rowan.edu/profsjobs using their Rowan email address and password.
- Returning students should click “forgot password” option if they do not know their password.
- If the system does not recognize your Rowan email address, click the “sign up” option to create an account with your Rowan student email.
Note: New incoming students for the fall term may not have immediate access to ProfsJobs, please contact Deniz Dennery or Andrew Duffy from the Office of Career Advancement with your full name and Banner ID# to request access.

More than 200 scholarships are available, to students from all majors and backgrounds, and are awarded based on merit, financial need, participation in ca

Graduate Student Travel Fund
The purpose of this fund is to support travel for graduate students in degree-granting programs, with preferential consideration going to students who are presenting. Because funding is limited, we will not be able to fully support student travel plans, so students are encouraged to seek additional funding sources through department or grant funding. Students must also have a faculty sponsor sign off on their application. The sponsor should be a research supervisor, advisor, lab manager/PI, or other faculty familiar with the student’s research presentation. There will be three deadlines per year – October 15 is the first deadline, but the School of Graduate Studies will accept applications through 10/31 this inaugural cycle due to time constraints.
Application and instructions are found here:

Study Abroad and International Affairs Scholarships
Study abroad enables you to be immersed in another culture while often either receiving academic credit or valuable experience. There exist several funded programs through which students can receive partial or full assistance for studying abroad. A number of these scholarships and programs are listed on this website.
Many of these scholarships are very competitive, so students are encouraged to contact our Director of National Scholarships and Fellowships, Dr. Christina Solomon, at solomonca@rowan.edu to discuss scholarships of interest.
