Biography

Clifford Phillips received his Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Graphic Arts in 2019, and he is working on procuring his Bachelor's degree in philosophy at Rowan University. He intends to continue on with his education to pursue a Ph.D. in philosophy. He hopes to become a college professor of philosophy in the future. He is currently a junior at Rowan and his main interests are learning, reading, writing, graphic design, and music.

While working on his education, Clifford gained a multitude of professional experiences from running a company to working in sales and even working as a graphic designer. These experiences allow him to better understand the needs of employers and what skills and proficiencies students should seek to attain when applying to internships. He also has experience directly with the hiring process at all steps as both a hirer and a hiree, allowing him to better advise students on resume and/or cover letter revisions.

These experiences led Clifford to his current role as the Employer Relations Coordinator in Rowan University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS). Through this position, Clifford works directly with students and employers to place students into fitting internship positions in the Center for Professional Success. The Center is a comprehensive resource center that supports the academic and career development of CHSS students. The Center for Professional Success hosts the CHSS Match Internship Program, facilitates student appointments to increase students’ career readiness, and collaborates with faculty members to integrate career services into the CHSS curriculum.
