Biography

Dr. Fischer is the Associate Dean for External Affairs, Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering at Rowan University. In this role he oversees the College’s public relations and advancement operations, and liaisons with private, public, academic and philanthropic organizations in support of the College’s academic and research program goals.  In addition, he organizes special events for the college, intra-university collaborations and is the primary support for the College’s Industry Advisory Council, and the College’s Alumni Advisory Council.  Prior to his time at Rowan he served as an administrator at Atlantic Cape Community College, where among other responsibilities he served as Executive Director of the College Foundation, Chief of Staff to the President, and Secretary for the Board of Trustees.  Fischer has taught courses in United States History and United States Government.
 
Fischer received his bachelor’s degree from Rowan University (History), his Master’s degree from Villanova University (Political Science), and his Doctorate (Education) from Creighton University.  A native of Southern New Jersey, he lives in Vineland with his wife, Irena Burgos and their daughter Avery.
