Public History

Whether students are interning at premiere historical sites like Red Bank Battlefield or completing compelling independent projects, opportunities abound for students to develop their skills both inside and outside of the classroom.

Students can complete a Certificate of Undergraduate Study in Public History that encourages students to explore the world of public history, museum studies, and archaeology. The required Internship in History course, Field Service in History, allows students to explore opportunities that speak to them whether it be archives, curation, digital content, or historic site management. Our students go on to work at the top public history sites in the area: The Museum of the American Revolution, the National Park Service, and Crossroads of the American Revolution. Recent grads have pursued graduate programs at Villanova University, the University of Delaware, and Rutgers University. Our public history students develop valuable skills that translate into success in museums, historic sites, and graduate programs.
