This Sweeney Center conference focuses on the challenges and opportunities that the growth of AI poses for government, business and education in New Jersey.
Speakers include:
- Tim Sullivan, CEO of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority and co-chair of the state's AI Task Force;
- Robert Asaro-Angelo, Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development;
- Senator Andrew Zwicker, Ph.D., Chair of the Senate Legislative Oversight Committee and Head of Strategic Partnerships and Public Engagement, Plasma Physics Laboratory, Princeton University
- Arvind Narayanan, Ph.D., Director of the Center for Information Technology, Princeton University, and author of AI Snake Oil: What Artificial Intelligence Can Do, What It Can't and How to Tell the Difference;
- Nidhal Bouaynaya, Ph.D., Associate Vice President for Artificial Intelligence, Rowan University, and Director of the New Machine & Artificial Intelligence VR Center (MAVRC), Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering;
- Dave Cole, New Jersey State Chief Innovation Officer and former Vice President, Global Operations and Strategy, Mapbox;
- Marc Pfeiffer, Senior Policy Fellow and Associate Director of Bloustein Local, Center for Urban Policy Research, Rutgers University.

The panel will also discuss successes in municipal shared services projects and school regionalization initiatives.

Major topics include the growth of nonprofit ownership models, the economics of the digital transformation, the decline in local news reporting, and the impact of increasing partisanship on independent journalism.
