Rosa Parks Reward Recipients
March 3, 2015: Joan Trumpauer Mulholland was imprisoned in Mississippi's notorious Parchman Penitentiary. Participating in more than three dozen protests since the age of 19, she became one of the first white students to integrate Tougaloo College in Jackson, Mississippi, and one of the first whites to join historically black sorority Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.
February 27, 2014: Mrs. Juanita Abernathy, Civil Rights Icon and activist, guest speaker and honoree at Rowan University's ninth annual commemorative luncheon for Rosa Parks.
February 28, 2013, Mr. Hari Jones, Assistant Director and Curator of the African American Civil War Memorial Freedom Foundation and Museum, Washington, DC., guest speaker and honoree at Rowan University's eighth annual commemorative luncheon for Rosa Parks.
February 29, 2012, Dr. Erik S. McDuffie, Associate Professor in the Department of Black American Studies and the Department of History at the University of Delaware, guest speaker at Rowan University's seventh annual commemorative luncheon for Rosa Parks. Special Rosa Parks Award presented to Dr. Corann Okorodudu.
