The Praxis II Spanish Content Knowledge exam (5195) is required for K-12 Subject Matter teaching certification in New Jersey. The test measures general and subject-specific content knowledge needed for beginning teachers. The test is taken on the computer and lasts for approximately three hours.  The exam costs $160 and the format includes 75 select-response questions and 6 constructed-response questions which include listening, writing, and speaking. The exam is offered by ETS. This exam can be taken at home or at select testing centers. *The test is limited in availability throughout the year. The exam must be passed prior to beginning professional coursework in the College of Education for the Clinical Practice/Student Teaching year.
