Rosemary Geri '77 World Languages Scholarship for majors in Spanish and Modern Languages and Linguistics

Objective:

The Rosemary Geri '77 World Languages Scholarship was established in honor of Rosemary Geri, who graduated from Glassboro State College (Rowan University) in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. She taught at the Northfield Community School for 23 years and was named Teacher of the year in 2010. She traveled extensively in the US, Europe, Far East and South Pacific and was particularly interested in experiencing Hispanic cultures.

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide assistance in the form of tuition, fees, and course-related books and software. The scholarship may also be used for living expenses and academically-related foreign travel.

Eligibility:

  1. This scholarship is intended for full-time Majors in Spanish and Modern Languages & Linguistics.
  2. The student's overall GPA must be at least 3.25.
  3. The student must be of Junior or Senior standing.
  4. Preference will be given to lower-income applicants with financial need.

Type the information requested below and submit via e-mail to Prof. Lorena Santos Quiñones (santos-quinones@rowan.edu), World Languages Scholarship Committee Chairperson, by March 31, 2022.  Please include “Geri Scholarship” in the subject line of the e-mail.

Two Scholarship Winners Chosen: 

  • First student awarded $5,085 for Summer 2022 and/or Fall 2022
  • Second student awarded $5,085 for Spring 2023
