Natalie Marley grew up in Kitakyushu City, Japan. She received her B.A. in Linguistics, M.A. in Japanese Linguistics and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Secondary Education from University of Hawaii at Manoa. She has created curriculum for, and taught beginning to advanced level Japanese, and has experience teaching at middle schools, a dual-immersion program, high schools and universities in Honolulu, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. She also has done translation and interpretation work between Japanese and English.
