Annalisa Riccio joined the Department of World Languages in September 2009. She was born and raised in Palermo (Sicilia), Italy. After graduation from the Università degli Studi di Palermo in 1999, she chose the United States as a place to pursue her interest in Foreign Languages and International Education. She received a BS in International Studies (2005) and an MS in International Education and Globalization (2010) from Drexel University. Annalisa has studied and lived in Italy, the United States, and Peru and she has been teaching foreign languages at the secondary and university levels for over ten years. During the day she teaches Italian and Spanish at the secondary level; at night she teaches Elementary and Intermediate Italian at Rowan University. She is also a freelance translator and interpreter for a local company. In her leisure time she enjoys cinema, music, dance, and travel. Her areas of interest include Italian Cinema, Second Language Teaching and Multimedia, Italian Folkloristic Music and Dance, Sicilian Poetry and Dialectology.
