Chie Matsumura Dusk began teaching Elementary Japanese at Rowan in the Fall of 2009. She holds a B.A. in English from Tsuru University in Yamanashi, Japan, and an M.A. in Education from Kansas State University with an emphasis on Foreign Language Acquisition. She has 15+ years of teaching experience for the Elementary through Business levels of Japanese and also works as a freelance Japanese-English translator with areas of expertise in business, manufacturing, medicine, and entertainment. Her work experience as a translator for global businesses and organizations has been helpful in her development of communicative teaching methodology and sharing the most current and real-world Japanese language with her students.
