Biography

Caesar is an instructor of French in the Department of World Languages. He has worked in the field of education in multiple capacities for over a decade. He has served as a public school teacher of French, a college instructor of French and English as a Second Language (ESL), an international student immigration advisor, and a language program curriculum developer. He has a Bachelor’s in Psychology & French from Rutgers University, a Master’s in French & Francophone Studies from Montclair State University, a second Master's in Educational Administration & Leadership from Kean University, and he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition Research from Inter American University of Puerto Rico. Caesar believes that using a variety of modalities to engage students in the foreign language, coupled with taking the time to understand the academic needs, goals, and interests of each student, are what leads to a successful language learning experience. Caesar is of Francophone heritage, and he travels often to visit his paternal family in Lebanon. His research interests include the sociolinguistics of French & English in Lebanon, language policy and planning, language acquisition, best practices in instructional and assessment approaches to SLIFE (Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education), and integrating AI in the foreign language classroom to promote communication in the target language.
