Rowan’s MSW mission statement: To teach, model, and advance social work knowledge values, and skills to prepare social workers to build responsive, equitable services and systems in the context of a diverse and dynamic society and advance mental health, equity, and well-being for individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities in South Jersey and beyond.
- Specialization: Mental Health, Equity and Well-being is grounded in justice as the foundation for growth, healing and change. Students will be able to work across a broad range of settings and populations.
- License Ready: This comprehensive program prepares students to sit for the licensed social work (LSW) exam and start their supervision hours towards clinical licensure (LCSW).
- Community Based: We are a community of learners building community across the campus and the region with an extensive network of field education partners.
- Individually Tailored: Access to graduate programs across Rowan provides transdisciplinary learning opportunities and the ability to develop specialized knowledge and/or certificates. Rowan’s two medical schools and extensive network of schools and colleges allows for additional certificate options like Wellness Coaching, Public Policy, and Diversity and Inclusion.
- Flexible Schedule: The program offers students either a 2 year or 3 year full time sequence with classes offered in the day and evening. This gives students the opportunity to complete their degree in a way that best fits their schedule.
- Practicum Experience: As field being the primary pedagogy of the program, students work one on one with the field education director to explore over 100 vetted practicum sites with opportunities for new and existing employment based practicum experiences.
