Electives
Students also have considerable opportunity to explore individual interests through a minimum of 9 additional required elective credits. Students are free to choose how/when they add elective credits. Electives are designed to further transdisciplinary learning, and students are encouraged to explore partner graduate programs and/or related disciplines.
Electives must be graduate level (500 and up).
Students have the option to apply elective credits towards a related certificate in graduate study (COGS). Certificates are not a requirement for MSW degree completion and oversight is provided by the department/program offering the certificate. Rowan certificate programs that can count towards MSW elective credit include:
- Wellness Coaching
- Public Health Preparedness and Emergency Management
- Diversity and Inclusion
- Public Policy
- Holocaust and Genocide Studies

- Go to Section Tally
- Choose the term
- Under Attribute select GRAD
- Choose any other filters you would like to searrch by
- Click Search
- Click on the CRN to view more information on the course.
- The description of the course can be found by clicking View Catalog Entry.
- Attributes, Restrictions, Prerequisites, and General Requirements can be found by clicking the title of the course
