Biography

Courtney Colletti received her Associate’s in Journalism and Communications from Salem Community College in 2018 before transferring to Rowan University. Here, she earned her Bachelor’s in Communication Studies in 2020 and Master’s in Strategic Communication in 2021, along with two Certificate of Graduate Studies for IMC / New Media and School Public Relations.

While working towards her degree, Courtney served as a graduate assistant to the Department of Public Relations and Advertising for the Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts and the Creative Assistant for the Office of Financial Aid. She also worked as and continues to work as a contributor and editor for Savvy Jersey Seniors, an online article series directed at NJ’s 55+ community. Courtney has also worked in content creation, writing for various mediums, social media management, and event planning before joining the Dean’s Office at the College of Humanities & Social Sciences (CHSS).

As part of the requirements to complete her M.A. in Strategic Communication, Courtney completed research on successful strategic communication techniques on social media to improve the overall image of the financial aid office and students' financial literacy. Her research was chosen for presentation at the 24th Annual International Public Relations Research Conference in January 2021.

Courtney works as the Public Relations Coordinator for CHSS, running CHSS social media accounts and working with the CHSS team to find and produce stories about the college. Courtney’s familiarity with Rowan University and the inner workings of social media management for an institute of higher education allows her to bring a fresh perspective that incorporates digital media to effectively communicate with students, parents, faculty and other CHSS stakeholders.
