Biography

Ian A. Silver is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law and Justice Studies at Rowan University and a fellow at the University of Cincinnati Corrections Institute (UCCI). His research interest include correctional rehabilitation, incarceration, and methodological issues in the social sciences. Although his research interests span a variety of topics, Ian’s primary goal is to conduct research that guides the development of criminal justice policies. Consistent with this goal, Ian has published research evaluating how correctional practices can increase or decrease the difficulties faced by individuals during or after involvement with the correctional system. Moreover, Ian has worked alongside correctional agencies to implement policies and practices to help reduce recidivism and reincarceration. Ian A. Silver’s recent work has appeared in the Journal of Quantitative CriminologyCriminal Justice and BehaviorCriminology and Public PolicyAggressive Behavior, Journal of Offender Rehabilitation, and Brain Injury.
