Biography
Dr. Carla Lewandowski received a Certificate in Law, an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, M.S. from Oxford University and B.A. from Princeton University. Her main research interests include homeland security, terrorism, and policing. She has written many articles on the topic of fusion centers in order to understand how they collect and disseminate information. She recently co-wrote Extremism in the Police: A Reference Handbook (2024) and co-edited Criminal Justice in America: The Encyclopedia of Crime, Law Enforcement, Courts, and Corrections (2020). Dr. Lewandowski teaches courses in International Terrorism, Race, Class, Ethnicity and Criminal Justice as well as an introductory criminal justice course. In 2024-2025, she is serving as the Fulbright García Robles U.S. Studies Chair at Universidad Veracruzana in Xalapa, Mexico.
