Michael S. Vigorita, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
Michael S. Vigorita, Associate Professor, received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University and is the Associate Chair of the Department of Law and Justice Studies. He has published articles on judicial decision making, sentencing and restorative justice. Currently, his research is focused on maritime crime and the effects of state legislation on maritime vessel accidents, injuries and fatalities. He currently teaches Senior Seminar courses and a course on Maritime Crime. His work is informed by practical experience as a former probation officer and collecting and analyzing data for the Administrative Office of the Courts.
