Mike HoffmanWe are pleased to announce Michael Hoffman, attorney at law, has joined Rowan’s School of Professional Studies and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. He will serve as an instructor for both undergraduate and graduate cannabis courses.  His graduate course, Legislation, Regulation and Policy Development as part of The Certificate of Graduate Study (COGS), Cannabis Specialist - Assessment and Social Control of Legalized Cannabis will be offered starting in the Spring of 2024.  Mr. Hoffman is a true solo attorney that has become a leader in delivering expungement clinic services in New Jersey.  He is also active in working with the New Jersey Cannabis Law Committee in making recommendations to the Cannabis Regulatory Commission.  Mr. Hoffman organizes and leads groups of attorneys and experts in various fields related to cannabis who meet regularly to review/interpret and analyze ongoing and upcoming regulations and court decisions.  He is a face that is widely recognized at cannabis industry events and is known for his passion to help those who are interested in being part of the industry, those who have been impacted by the criminalization of cannabis and his desire to help shape New Jersey’s cannabis regulations. Most recently, Mr. Hoffman, was awarded the 2023 New Jersey Cannabis Insider Award for Excellence in Social Equity.

Jessica GonzalezRowan’s School of Professional Studies and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to have Jessica Gonzalez, attorney at law, as an instructor and developer of Cannabis Research, Program Evaluation and Policy as part of our Certificate of Graduate Study (COGS), Cannabis Specialist - Assessment and Social Control of Legalized Cannabis.  Ms. Gonzalez is a cannabis and trademark attorney, policy advocate and consultant.  She is one of few Latina lawyers in New Jersey having emigrated with her family from Ecuador to New Jersey as a young child. She has dedicated her career to “uplifting communities harmed by cannabis prohibition through advocacy and education”. In 2021, she was listed on the “Next Generation of Leaders List, by NJBIZ. She was featured again in NJBIZ 2023 as one of the most influential women in New Jersey’s legal profession.  She was also the inaugural winner of New Jersey’s Cannabis Insider Community Game Changer of the Year Award in 2022. She received the “Rising Star” award by the New Jersey Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and named by High Times as being among the 100 most influential figures in the nation’s cannabis space. Ms. Gonzalez was also selected by the New Jersey Business Action Center (NJBAC) to launch the NJBAC Cannabis Technical Assistance Program and Training Academy. As Executive Director, she was tasked to develop a no-cost technical assistance and training service to cannabis business license applicants in the social equity, legacy impact zone, diverse-owned and micro-business categories.
