Biography
Yvonne Hammond earned her B.A. in English at the University of Saint Mary (formerly Saint Mary College, Leavenworth) in 1997, and her M.A. in English and English Secondary Education from The University of Montana in 2010. She studied English literature at West Virginia University, where she completed a Ph.D. in 2017. Her scholarship explores survival strategies found within the confessional aspects of life-writing. Her publications and teaching background emphasize social justice, specifically through Prison Studies and Native American Studies. She currently teaches American Literature, Native American Literature, Gender and Sexuality in Literature, Prison Studies, and Critical Methods.
