International Scholarships, Internships, and other opportunities for:

Rowan students who decide to apply for a scholarship or fellowship should contact Dr. Seran Schug, schug@rowan.edu, Rowan's Coordinator for National Fellowships & Scholarships (Fulbright, Boren, CLS, etc.) and faculty in your field for feedback on your application, especially your essays! Most of these national grants are very competitive, and the vast majority of students who submit applications work with the fellowship office at their university and faculty in their field. If you submit an application without getting feedback, you reduce your chances of securing a grant.

This guide includes programs open to all students, but students who are interested in grants should also check ProFellow, which offers a database of about 900 scholarships and fellowships that's searchable by level of study, discipline, locations, etc. You need to "join" (i.e. create a user name and password) to search their database, but anyone can read the helpful articles published there about various topics: scholarships in specific fields, tips to strengthen your application, interviews with fellowship winners, etc.

To suggest additional scholarships for international research or study abroad, programs to work abroad, international affairs internships in the U.S. or abroad, and/or low-cost international work/volunteer programs for undergraduates, recent graduates, or graduate students, please contact Dr. Corinne Blake, blake@rowan.edu. Research on the programs listed here was conducted by Nicole Colonna, Tyler Jiang, and Elizabeth Mosolovich.
