The Robert E. Adelson World War II Photograph Collection is made up of photographs taken and collected by American Soldier Robert E. Adelson throughout his service during World War II. Spanning across France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and Luxembourg, these photographs offer a new perspective on the life of a Jewish American soldier in Europe during the war. A collaboration between the CDHR, the Rowan Center for the Study of Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights, and the University Archives and Special Collections.
The Juneteenth Archive is a digital collection to learn about the history and contemporary practices of Juneteenth. It began as a commemoration of the long-delayed emancipation of the enslaved people of Texas and its surrounding area but has grown through grassroots movements to all corners of the United States. Currently, the Juneteenth Archive is in its first phase and is focused particularly on the festivals in New Jersey supported by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
Operation Uganda Digital Collection and Exhibit
In collaboration with Operation Uganda Renewed, a team of ten students and faculty is currently developing a digital collection and exhibit to tell the history of the 1962 Operation Uganda project at Glassboro State College through primary source documents with generous support from alumna Betty Bowe Castor.
The University from Above: Mapping Mexico City with Archival Aerial Imagery
Dr. Jessica Mack's digital project uses aerial photography and georectification to visualize the construction of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
Covid-19 Pandemic Experiences at Rowan University
This crowdsourced class project was created by Digital History students in Fall 2022 to document and preserve experiences at Rowan University during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sharing Stores from 1977
Digital History students contributed to University of Houston's collaborative digital humanities project about the history of the National Women's Conference of 1977. Rowan students contributed research and wrote biographies of New Jersey delegates to the conference, including members of the Glassboro State community.
