Biography
Dr. Mary Kay Tuohy, holds a doctorate in clinical social work from the University of Pennsylvania. Her clinical and research interests focus on severe mental illness, community integration and certified peer specialists. She co-developed and piloted a measure for community integration- The Community Connections and Engagement Scale (CCES) and has presented extensively on peer support and recovery. Her more recent projects focus on the expansion of peer services in the autism community.
Dr. Tuohy is a Professor of Professional Practice and Social Work, Sociology & Anthropology. Having launched a BSW degree completion program at Rowan College of South Jersey Cumberland and lectured in the MSW program in the University of Pennsylvania, she will develop and direct the MSW program at Rowan University.
