Biography

Elizabeth Rantuccio teaches courses on Marriage & Family, Social Problems, and Introduction to Sociology. She also teaches Sociological Research Methods and Social Statistics for which she has a particular passion. Professor Rantuccio received her B.A. in sociology, with Honors in her Major from Temple University. She began her academic career at the Penn State University where she gained experience teaching. Upon her return to Philadelphia, PA, Professor Rantuccio received her M.A. at Temple University, with a concentration on Research Methods and Marriage & Family. As a Research Associate in the Planning Department at The Cooper Health System in Camden, NJ for nearly 10 years, she became interested in Medical Sociology and participated in presentations at The American Sociological Associations conference in Atlanta. Professor Rantuccio is a member of the American Sociological Association and is currently pursuing a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Holocaust & Genocide Studies. She is a former Board Member/Executive Secretary of The Southern New Jersey Regional Early Intervention Collaborative (SNJREIC). Her research interests include Holocaust & Genocide Studies, The Family, Aging and the Life Course, Medical Sociology, and Teaching Sociology.

Prof Rantuccio is a wife and mother of three amazing boys! One of her sons is on the Autism Spectrum and, therefore, she is actively involved in advocating for his health care and education. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, her pets, reading and crafts.
