Course sequencing is designed to progressively introduce social work knowledge, values, and skills grounded in the CSWE nine core competencies. The BSW focuses on generalist level social work education

BSW Program Guide 

Bachelor of Social Work Specific Requirements:

  • Students must receive a grade of C or better in all courses satisfying Major requirements.
  • Students must apply for SWK 01.450 Senior Social Work Practicum in spring of their junior year.
  • Students must complete 400 supervised hours at an approved social work field practicum and pass SWK 01.450 Senior Social Work Practicum 1, SWK 01.451 Senior Seminar 1, SWK 01.460 Senior Social Work Practicum 2, and SWK 01.461 Senior Seminar 2.

Summary of Major Requirements:

  • 18 sh of Required Core Courses
  • 30 sh of Required Practice Courses
  • 12 sh of Approved Electives (any level)
