Accelerated Dual Degree Program (formerly CADP)

This program allows students to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice Studies and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice in FIVE years!

12 credits can be DOUBLE COUNTED towards both the undergraduate and graduate degrees!!

To apply to the program, student must have:

  • Successfully completed 60-75 credits of undergraduate course work
  • A Cumulative GPA of 3.5 in the major and an overall cumulative GPA of 3.2
  • Successfully completed at least 15 credits within the major
  • Successfully completed at least 3 courses within the Law and Justice Studies Department at Rowan University with a B or better
  • Successfully completed at least 15 credits at Rowan University
  • Completed or be enrolled in Theories of Crime and Criminality (LAWJ05 369) and Criminal Justice Research (LAWJ05 380)

Application will consist of:

  • Two letters of recommendation, at least one of which must be from a Law and Justice Studies professor (in sealed envelopes with recommenders' signatures across seal)
  • 300-500 word statement of purpose for attending the program with name, address, email, and phone number at top
  • Printout of Rowan Transcript

This program allows students to take four graduate courses (12 credits) during their Senior years, and apply those credits towards their BA requirements as either Free Electives or Law and Justice Studies Electives.  Students fulfill the requirements for their BA in Law and Justice Studies during their Senior year, and then return for one additional year and take six more graduate courses.  At the end of the fifth year they receive both a BA in Law and Justice Studies and a MA in Criminal Justice.

The ten courses required for the MA in Criminal Justice include six required courses and four electives.  Students also must pass a comprehensive exam after completing their coursework.

Completed application packets must be submitted to the Coordinator of the Master of Arts in Criminal Justice Program by February 15th of your Junior year.
